Change
Yesterday the jury I was on deliberated about 5 hours to render a guilty verdict in a DWI case. It was tough, but respectful. All in all, it was a very interested experience. And though I lost two days to it, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to serve. The defendant being found guilty will undoubtedly be facing many changes in his life. My hope is they are for the better.
Of course, there were other changes taking place yesterday, not the least of which was the national election. I left the TV on as I fell asleep early. I awoke as California's delegates put Barak Obama over the top, making him our next president come January.
While I am a man of rather strong political views, I rarely vent them here. And with yesterday's election, I see no need to start now. Scripture tells us that our "politics" (the KJV says "conversation" but it is the same word) is in Heaven. And so long as Jesus Christ runs unopposed, my future is firmly in His grasp.
And if your guy didn't win. Don't sweat it. 2012 is right around the corner.
